I’m so glad I was able to work with these guys on their wedding, and with Kami on her bridals. Czar cracked me up with how inquisitive he was with everything. I’ve never had a couple that was so cooperative with some of the odd things I asked them to do (such as have the groom hold the bouquet–it’s a cute picture). The details were amazing and I loved the colors together-very fresh and clean! Kami had incorporated some fun details like the candy table as favors for her guests, and the vintage-looking pin she used for her sash on her dress–SO adorable!!
Thank you guys for sharing your day with me. It was a beautiful day full of sun, laughter & warmth.

Their cake was AMAZING and one of my favorite details of the day. It was created by the one & only Raelynn McCormick. Contact her at (435) 789-4674 for your beautiful cake!!

As you can see I’ve been spending some time away from technology for the Holidays. Spending some much-needed time with family, reconnecting with my hubby, getting an additional puppy…and I’ve been doing some soul searching. So many of my nights over the last year have been spent sitting here in front of my screen, disconnected from reality, trying to figure out what to do next, where to go from here—and I found myself lost. Lost in technology, lost in keeping up, lost in the crowd, and worst of all lost in myself. I can’t say that I know exactly where I want to be a year from now with Moments by Lacy, but I do know that my story has only just begun. I thought I loved Photography before, but I was wrong. It runs within me–it’s my outlet–it’s my sanity, without which-I would be pretty batty.
I’ve been brain storming and I’ve got some fun things planned for 2010 for my clients, and I’m extremely excited about it all!! So…I’m hoping that all of my readers will have the BEST YEAR YET in 2010. Make the best of each day you have…it seems like it only speeds up as days go by.
What’s that you say? You want to see the new Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppy? Well…your wish is my command:

And of course, she’s cuddled up in a Nebraska Husker’s blanket!
Oh how I love these guys. We have been friends with the Bishop’s for 3 or 4 years now. Melissa and I were just talking the other night about how quickly her youngest is growing up! She was TINY when we started hanging out with them….well, BOTH of the girls were tiny. I get to see Kyle more than Melissa because it seems that him and my husband are attached at the hip
I’m glad he has such a great friend. They were a lot of fun to shoot–and Kyle was such a trooper. I forgot that his knee was still sore and I was making him squat & do all sorts of weird things–then it hit me (as he got up pretty SLOWLY at one point)–He JUST HAD KNEE SURGERY!! He just laughed when I said, “Why didn’t you say something about your knee to remind me?!” Yup, felt like a GREAT friend at that point…NOT
–Sorry Beak!

We love you guys! Love, Lacy
I just couldn’t stand it…I just HAD to post a few pictures of what I’ve been so busily working on while neglecting my blog
I’ve been chained to my desk and working on getting all this editing done and back out to my clients, so I haven’t had a chance to get them posted. I swore to myself that I would get some up this weekend….so this post was born!
****PLEASE NOTE: I still am not booking baby/child sessions, these babies are family or very close friends. Please check Sandy Schurz website for baby & child photography, she’s amazing

Stay tuned for all these sessions, and more!!!
These two are so stinkin’ cute together! I’ve known Nicole for a long time, so when she called to have me shoot her wedding I was super excited! She’s an adorable person with a heart of gold who would help anyone out who needed her. I knew the day she got married would be a fun and carefree day just because of the fun girl she is…and fun & carefree it was! My lovely sister came along on this shoot with me to help me get all the details covered. I love when she comes with me because she has that “artsy” jean that I love (Thanks again Amy for coming with me on this one! Love ya).
The wedding and reception took place at the bride’s parents house, which has a FABULOUS back yard…complete with a sand box and swing set for kids! I’ve never seen a bride before their wedding be as calm as she was. Cole seemed a little more nervous when I went over to click some pictures of him…but he was still more calm than I had expected. I took some pictures of Nicole getting ready, then I headed outside to find Cole. He and his brothers were outside waiting for time to pass. I started clicking pictures of him (against his will, he would say! sorry Cole) then after I got the shots I wanted, I set off to get some detail shots. I went back inside and Nicole was saying that Cole’s shirt he was wearing still had the crease lines in it from being in the package…she was laughing about it and had assigned someone to go “take care of that”. Apparently I’m retarded because as I was chatting with him and clicking pictures of him with his brothers, I DIDN’T EVEN NOTICE?!? Glad someone was more observant that day than I was
These two are so perfect for each other, and I know they will have a long and happy life together, and that Nicole will make a great step mom to Payton. Congrats you guys!!!

P.S….The Goodrich’s had this beef sent in from where Nicole’s mom grew up. I’ve never had BBQ’d beef as amazing as that! Oh my gosh, it was amazing! It ships in marinade and vacuum packed…definitely need to get some of that to BBQ this coming summer
PS-Nicole…if you know the name of the company, shoot it my way
haha

The Daddy’s dance started out like this….

Then broke into a rock song….in true Nicole & Coray fashion

Kami is such a sweetheart, and it has been so fun working with her and her fiance (or HUSBAND as of last night), Czar–CONGRATS TO YOU GUYS. The wedding was beautiful (and the cake was AMAZING!), and pictures will be coming soon, along with her Bridal session. Funny story actually…I started this post for her bridal pictures, and when I went to link back to their engagement session pictures, i searched…I searched my new blog here, along with my old blog and what did I find….NOTHING! I spaced posting their engagement session?! What?! This was one of my favorite sessions, how could I have spaced it?! I know how…because I seriously have about 5 “to do” lists, and between opening this new blog, getting the website ready to launch, and booking family sessions like they’re going out of style, I spaced this somehow. Hey, at least I didn’t space getting their pictures to them! So, to Kami and Czar, I’m sorry I’m just barely getting these posted right now…but now they’re up
I wish these two the best in their new life together, and I’ll reiterate something I told them on our first meeting: Don’t believe everyone that says the first year is the hardest…that’s a lie
The first year is amazingly fun!

AND JUST FOR GOOD MEASURE…HERE’S ONE FROM HER BRIDAL SESSION!

You may remember seeing Nichola’s pretty face on my old blog. Nick and Nichola were married last weekend out on the Wasatch Front, and they are TOO cute together. I’ve been chomping at the bit to get her bridal session up because it was so much fun, and a real challenge for me (which I love…most of the time). We had debated if we should go ahead with the session or not because it was just starting to rain when we got to our location. We slammed some pictures out, and it ended up being a BEAUTIFUL backdrop.
Nichola is so much fun, and i now know where she gets some of her personality from. Her Mom & Grandma came along on her session, and they’re all so cute. Her Grandma is from England and she has SUCH a neat accent. We were laughing because she was talking to Nichola about “thongs”…and in our our vocabulary, those aren’t the things that go on your feet
. Nichola hadn’t found “her shoes” quite yet, so we decided to do her bridals bare foot…hence the “thong” conversation with Grandma.

Honestly, who gets a RAINBOW in their bridal pictures?! …NICHOLA DOES

This picture reminds me of the Wizard of Oz…not sure why…

It started raining, so we hid out under the porch for a few…

That’s right…she’s a “ROCKSTAR”!

Thank you so much Nichola for letting me do your bridal pictures…I’m glad the weather cooperated (if only for a little while) and that we captured some REALLY fun images for you to share with your children. Best wishes to you and Nick for your future
With love, Lacy
If I were to tell you about the first time I met Brooke, I’m sure it would have something to do with polka-dots, rolled down socks-or 2 socks that matched our outfits, matching bows, and slip-on Keds (surely)….but the truth is, I can’t tell you about the FIRST time because I can’t remember it. It’s been tooooooo long ago. Brooke and I have been friends since we were in Maeser elementary school. There’s actually a little group of us “Mighty Mites” that still get together every once in a while (usually thanks to Pamela Jean’s organizing) along with many new friends we’ve picked up along the way.
To say that we’ve “been through a lot” is an understatement. From those recess filled school days, to cheerleading trips, to college, then back home again where it all began to open the door to that same journey for OUR children (although, I doubt my Coop dog will be doing cheer, or going to college). Are we honestly getting this old?! Old enough to have children/dogs
?! WOWZA…Seriously, it feels like just yesterday Brooke and I were cruising down the Maeser Highway in the red Oldsmobile (with the AWESOME blinking license plate frame), headed to Ashley’s house singing to the top of our lungs the Martina McBride “I love you” song. As life goes, we grow up and sometimes grow apart, which it seems has happened with most of my friends. I think that’s just the way life is sometimes…we can’t all be like Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte & Miranda (or) Rachel, Monica & Phoebe
. I always tell myself, “I’m going to be a better friend”, “We all need to go to lunch soon”, “I’ll drop by and see them tomorrow”…but time is my arch nemesis, and before I know it “tomorrow” is gone and I’m still 5 strides behind.
Anyway…BACK TO THE PICTURES! This is the beautiful family that Brooke has now. Their little girl is a DOLL, and she is just as polite as Brooke always has been. Ryan is also a TRUE gentleman, so it’s no wonder she’s such a well behaved little girl. Seriously, she’s probably one of the best little tikes I’ve photographed, thus far!
Here are some of the highlights…

Much thanks to Brooke & Ryan for letting me capture their family in this stage of their lives. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you
I know it will be GREAT things.
…And Brooklyn, you know I’ll always love you
Posts from Nicole & Cole’s wedding, along with Rafaela & Curtis’ wedding will be posted soon…
But for now…here’s a preview of what’s to come:
