About Lacy

Even as a child, I can remember having an innate interest in photography….ok, maybe not “photography” but definitely in those shiny camera’s!  I would often go into my grandparent’s guest room (or “my room” when I was there) and get into the drawers of the cabinet that sat just inside the door.  I’d tug on the middle door, and inevitably I’d get it open.
What lay inside that cabinet gave me that “yippee!!!” feeling in the pit of my stomach.  There sprawled out in front of me were Grandpa’s old cameras that he didn’t use anymore.  One day, I finally asked Grandpa if I could use one of them….
[enter a huge toothless smile on a little girl’s face & an infatuation planted deep within]
The camera that Grandpa let me use was one that used the old flash strips.  You’d plug one of the 5 bulb strips into the top of the camera, and with each click of the shutter, it would blow a bulb & cloud the plastic casing.  I was so fascinated by this!  After I’d had my fun with the camera, Grandpa would take the film in to be developed and would have the pictures I’d taken waiting there for me when I came to stay with them again.  The instant I saw the pictures, my love for the hardware exploded into the love for the moment captured on film.

Now…many, many, many moons later, I’ve collected some updated equipment, and a little more knowledge, and am loving my results.
